We are a volunteer-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of Hawaii's orphaned and injured wild birds.
Our Mission Statement:
Through rehabilitation resources and educational outreach, Wild Bird Rehab Haven makes a difference in our community by helping concerned citizens help the orphaned and injured wild birds of Hawaii.
Our goal is to release the birds after they have recuperated from an illness or injury. Those birds, however, that have sustained injuries that prevent them from surviving in the wild will be adopted out to a certified care giver or given a permanent safe home at the center.
We believe all wild birds deserve our utmost respect and compassion. We believe they deserve a safe haven where they can recover, heal, and receive a renewed chance for life.
Trained volunteer members are currently working in their own homes with many species of injured and baby birds, using specialized diets and techniques to facilitate their recovery and success when restored to their natural habitat.
We assess injuries, treat shock and dehydration, splint broken bones, administer medications, treat a variety of wounds, perform physical therapy, feed hungry babies, and provide supportive care to all the birds we receive.
We have exceptionally skilled rehabilitators on call for consultation. We also rely on avian veterinarians for expert advice and surgical and technical procedures.
